Remember: God is in charge
Laura DeMaria
On this, the day after a national election, I want to remind you all of an article I wrote, “Ecclesiastes and Turning Politics Over to God.”
If you are someone who follows politics and elections closely, and is disappointed today for whatever reason, whichever side you may be on, I offer you this consolation: in the end, God’s will be done.
“The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Believing in excess in worldly powers - or the importance of your own generation - is both idolatry and vanity. It also means one has given up the idea that God is in charge and he has a plan. Rather than obsess over political outcomes, view your disappointments as an opportunity for humility and greater trust in God!
Here’s that article again. Take a look. And pray a hail Mary, and move on with your life.
