The Eucharistic Miracle of Buenos Aires
Laura DeMaria
This past weekend I moved and have been without internet at the new place for a few days (and somehow it's mostly felt liberating). Thus, no radiantly happy posts on the Pope's visit - yet. In the meantime, though, I do want to share this video that a friend recently sent my way - it is about the Eucharistic miracle that took place in 1996 in Buenos Aires when Jorge Bergoglio, now known as Pope Francis, was Auxiliary Bishop.
Did you know that when a piece of consecrated Host is dropped on the floor, by accident or otherwise, the proper way to dispose of it is to dissolve it in water? Of course in the Catholic Church, the concept of the bread as Christ's body is central, and not superficial - once the bread becomes His body, it must be treated so, and simply throwing it away is not acceptable. At a church in Buenos Aires, this is what happened - but when the Host was placed in water, something remarkable happened.
I'll let the video tell the rest.
