Happy Solemnity of All Saints

Laura DeMaria

It is November 1, the Solemnity of All Saints! My favorite thing about this day is that it a day to remember and honor all saints, “known and unknown.” What is an unknown saint? Shouldn’t they all be official? Well, no. Some are lost to history, some are never known beyond their family or neighborhood, but their intercession is still real. So today, think about and pray with those big-name saints - you probably already have some favorites - but remember those others, too: the little church ladies, the holy priests, the self-sacrificing mothers, the cloistered nun who kept the world turning with her prayers.

If you want to learn more about some of the most powerful and beloved saints, Relevant Radio all day today is the telling the stories of the saints. Learn more and listen here.

I’ll be back on Morning Air on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:10 am eastern to discuss my next article, coming out this week, called The Great Resignation is a Spiritual Crisis. In it, I talk about how acedia is the cause of quiet quitting, and the positive discovery of what really matters in life, and the search for a meaningful life, are what are causing the great resignation. It is an interesting topic!

All you saints and angels, pray for us.

How St. Jude works

Laura DeMaria

Friends, I wanted to let you know of a beautiful thing that happened over the weekend. On Friday, I was texting with a friend who is due in three weeks. She let me know that although everyone and everything looked healthy, baby boy was currently breech, causing her and dad a good deal of concern, as they hoped and prayed baby would turn of his own accord without the need for medical intervention.

As I am (still) in the middle of the novena to St. Jude, I told her I’d add this intention to my prayers.

She sent me text yesterday morning - two days later - that little boy had flipped. God is good! And prayer really works, especially when we ask our powerful friends and intercessors in Heaven for their assistance.

St. Jude, patron of seemingly lost and hopeless causes, pray for us!

Talking about October's Respect Life Month and focus on the rosary with Morning Air

Laura DeMaria

Yesterday, I joined John Morales on the Morning Air show for a discussion of focusing on October’s themes - Respect Life Month and the month of the rosary. John and I agreed it is a good idea to hide rosaries in your coat pockets to find every fall when you bring them back out of the closet. Timely!

You can listen to the interview here. I will be back on Tuesday, November 7 at 7:10 am eastern. And what will I discuss? The fact that it’s All Saints Day? My next article? Time will tell!
